Roots To Riffs is 1-2-1 guitar and bass guitar teaching service for all ages, that isn't like any other. It offers exciting lessons that are adaptable and tailored to each students individual goals, wants, and needs, with progression, empowerment and exploration always at the forefront. All lessons are pay as you go and lesson times are flexible if students need to re-arrange.
What does Roots To Riffs cover?
Numerous topics are covered throughout the lessons, such as; songwriting, recording, musicianship, learning to play by ear, learning to read music, grading and different avenues in the music industry. However, not every topic has to be covered if it is not enjoyable or challenging enough.

I strongly believe there are many different ways and teaching methods that can achieve the same results, which is important because no two people are the same. Everyone has different ambitions, goals and interests, which is why, at Roots To Riffs, I aim to cover as many topics as possible to keep learning music interesting. Additionally, not everyone knows what their goals or interests are with music, but by learning the guitar or bass through different topics, we can discover what the most beneficial ways of learning are.
Where is Roots To Riffs based?
Roots To Riffs is based in Barnsley, predominantly teaching in this region. However, it doesn't require the students to travel anywhere as Roots To Riffs makes the journey to them, teaching from the comfort of their own home! This means the service is much more accessible, relaxed, and inclusive, plus, it takes the stress out of rushing around to get to lesson on time. Lessons are available for people outside of Barnsley still in the Yorkshire region, but it does cost an additional 45 pence per mile for fuel. This is something that we would discuss and agree on, to ensure a clear and consistent price each week.
